Downtown Vancouver

Although a major city, getting around Downtown Vancouver is relatively easy, as it is spread over a small area. You can find Granville Street and Robson; popular outdoor shopping drags over here.

Gastown is Vancouver’s oldest neighborhood is known for its new age feel while still possessing its historic charm.

West End

Situated on the west side of Downtown, Vancouver’s West End is bordered by water on three sides: Coal Harbour, English Bay and Stanley Park’s internationally renown Lost Lagoon.

Coal Harbour

You will be surprised to find that Coal Harbour, Vancouver is a calm neighborhood despite its location on the water’s edge in the heart of downtown. This small area also has an industrial history since it served as a shipyard in the past with a railway terminus sitting right next to it.

Locals know this area as ‘Kits’ and the parks, beach, commercial districts and pleasant residential streets located just the other side of the Burrard bridge from downtown still manages to retain a relaxed and appealing atmosphere.

Mainly, Kerrisdale lies in a residential region and has lots of long-term residents. A succession of beautiful trees borders the neighborhood’s streets.
