Toronto is located on the Great Lakes which can cause a significant impact on its environment, and it ensures that the weather is warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer than it could otherwise be.

Usually, it is warm in the summer. Toronto’s winters are sometimes severe. Snow falls consistently between December and March and temperatures are sometimes icy. During the summertime, Toronto is surprisingly humid and sticky which can disappoint visitors who are expecting a cooler city.

Fall temperatures range from twenty-one degrees Celsius in September to seven degrees Celsius in November, and the overnight temperatures can be as low as thirteen degrees Celsius but can go down to two degrees Celsius in November. It is normal to see fog on some days from Lake Ontario, and sometimes gray drizzles can occur around ten days every month, but most of the time it is a pleasant season.

Winter in Toronto is frigid but not colder than other places in Canada. Daytime highs can fall to -1 degrees Celsius, in January but overnight temperatures during the winter time can average -3 to -6. If that sounds good, you are correct, but the record low has been thirty-two degrees Celsius, so you should prepare for it to be worse than the average figures show.

If you plan to visit Toronto in the winter, having warm winter clothing is necessary for the city. When you are in the hills and mountains, you need proper snow gear.

Spring makes Toronto and Lake Ontario come back to life after its brutal winter weather. The spring time is also a great season to enjoy sporting fixtures and parks. The temperature is usually above freezing during April. When May comes around you can expect the temperature during the day to be around eighteen degrees Celsius.

It is best to bring some layered clothing and something waterproof because Spring can be wet and windy in Toronto.

Summer in Toronto

The normal temperature in June, July, and August are a reasonable twenty-five degrees Celsius, so the thermostat can slowly go above forty degrees Celsius, and heat waves are common. You should wear plenty of sunscreens and take a hat, and also some sunglasses. Having an umbrella would also be helpful because you can expect a couple of inches of rain every month during the summer.
